Each report or dashboard is made up of ‘tiles’. For dashboards, there are at least two or more tiles which may include visualisations (such as charts, graphs) or data sets, or a combination of both.

  • Click on the three dots in the right uppermost corner (to the right of the ‘update/refresh’ icon and the ‘hide filter’ icon) and then select ‘Download’

    • A popup will appear, select ‘PDF’ to get the best view of the visualisations. You’ll be prompted to update other selections, as appropriate.

Download interactive relational data sets

Within a dashboard, some tiles may be set up to be interactive. This means that by clicking on the data, a popup window will appear to reveal a data set related to that value.

  • To download this relational data set, click on the ‘Download’ option in the top right of the popup window.

  • A popup will appear and the default format will be ‘CSV‘ (see note below)

  • Select ‘Advanced data options’

  • DO NOT change the settings under ‘Results’ or ‘Data values’; otherwise, you may corrupt the data export

  • Under ‘Number of rows to include’, select ‘All results’ to export the data set to include any rows past the defaulted 500 visible in the interface

  • Click ‘Download’ to download your results (Note: once you click ‘Download’, depending on the size of the data being extracted, you won’t necessarily see your browser doing anything for a few minutes. Once the data has been extracted, you’ll see your browser update the ‘download’ icon typically found in the top right of your browser. This is a limitation of the Looker application that VitalSource is not able to alter at this time.)
