Access and Affordability Programmes Reporting Success Guide
This report is designed to provide a clear and comprehensive view of Access and Affordability programme materials adopted for your school. These programmes aim to ensure that students have affordable and seamless access to required course materials on or before the first day of class, helping to reduce cost barriers and improve academic preparedness. This resource helps track adoption progress, confirm courses that will use the Access and Affordability programmes, and ensure accuracy for the upcoming term. Below, you’ll find details on each tab included in the report, along with best practices for using this tool effectively.
Important Update: Auto Enrollment into the Access and Affordability Program
To streamline the adoption process and reduce manual tracking, courses will now be automatically enrolled in the Access and Affordability Programme if the course and instructor are the same as in a previous term.
As part of this process, we will also proactively reach out to faculty to confirm their continued use of the Access and Affordability Programmes materials. If an instructor does not wish to participate, they should reach out to adoptions@vitalsource.com to request removal.
Understanding Your Access and Affordability Report
Tab 1: (Current Term) Confirmed Items
All finalized and submitted Access and Affordability Programme adoptions for the current term.
🔹Best Practice: This data is updated weekly, so it's important to review this tab regularly to ensure all expected Access and Affordability Programme materials are included. If any details appear incorrect or a course is missing, please reach out to adoptions@vitalsource.com.
Tab 2: Access & Affordability- Match
This tab highlights courses being taught by instructors who previously participated in your school’s Access and Affordability Programme for the same course in a prior term. As a result, these courses have been automatically adopted into the program for the upcoming term.
If a course listed here does not appear in Tab 1, it likely means the instructor is no longer participating in the program or has changed their course materials.
🔹 Note: If any courses from this tab are appearing in Tab 1 but you believe they should not be included in your Access and Affordability Programme, please let us know and we will remove them accordingly.
Tab 3: Access & Affordability- Review
These are courses that previously used the Access & Affordability Programme but now have a different (or unassigned) instructor and so were not auto-enrolled. Feel free to review this tab and let us know if any of these should be submitted for the Access & Affordability Programme this term.
🔹 Best Practice: Collaborate with departments or faculty to confirm interest and submit any needed Access and Affordability Programme adoptions.
Remaining Tabs: Prior Term Programme Items
This section provides a broader view of Access and Affordability Programmes adoption history from earlier terms. It can help identify adoption trends, support planning conversations, and ensure no eligible courses are overlooked.
🔹 Best Practice: Review historical patterns to inform future adoption strategies and proactive outreach.
