Create Codes to Distribute Your Assets

The Manage platform provides you the ability to create codes to distribute your content to customers or prospective customers. Codes are 20-characters long and are redeemed for a license to content in Bookshelf.

There are several code types. One type is a "comp code", or compensation code, which is a non-billable code. It used to enable a customer to review your title for free and typically has limited license terms. Publishers usually provide comp codes for promotional purposes. Your contract terms with VitalSource determine the price you will pay for comp codes.

Content codes can be created via the Codes & Courseware tab (the quick option) or via the Asset Page (the "more options" option) of the title you want to create codes for.

Create Codes via the Codes & Courseware Tab

  1. Login to your Manage account at manage.vitalsource.com
  2. Click on the Codes & Courseware tab, then on Create Code.
