Akademos Action Items Report
In this video, we discuss how publishers can utilize the Akademos Action Items Report to ensure digital content in Manage is ready for institutions to adopt for upcoming terms.
Reading the Report
This report highlights Akademos adoptions where a Publisher admin may need to take action to ensure ISBNs and prices are ready for the upcoming term for the following Akademos program Types:
- Student Choice Programs
- Inclusive Access (IA)/Equitable Access (EA) Programs
Columns C through I show the:

- Course Start Date
- ISBN
- Title
- School Name

Course Codes
Column J contains the Program Type under Adoptions Simplified.
Action Needed
Publishers need to pay close attention to the “Availability” column to understand the action needed.
Review Content/Ingest Content to Manage
If The action needed is Review Content/Ingest Content to Manage it does not necessarily mean the content is not in Manage. It could mean the school is using an incorrect SKU and that SKU is not found in Manage.
The action to take is for the publisher to advise the school of the correct SKU and confirm the correct SKU is in Manage and also confirm the institution has distribution rights.
If the content is not available in Manage, the publisher will need to provide/ingest the content into Manage and provide the school with the updated SKU
Assign Distribution Rights
If the Action needed is to Assign Distribution Rights, please add distribution rights to the content in Manage or authorize VitalSource to update the distribution rights in our inventory on your behalf.
To give VitalSource rights on your behalf:
Simply comment on the rightmost column of the Akademos Action Report and reply to the email you received with the report authorizing VitalSource to update pricing and distribution rights in our inventory.
If the bookstore is not reflecting your agreed upon adoption, then work directly with the bookstore to adjust adoption information to match your records, if needed.
