Interactive Blocks
There are 11 Interactive Content Blocks. Please take a look at the detailed explanation below for each of these Interactive content blocks.
Multiple Choice
A Multiple Choice interactive block can be used for questions with a single correct answer or multiple correct answers. Answers for both question types can be text or images.
The Questions tab is where the question and answer content is entered. Answers can be text or images. A correct answer(s) must be designated for each question. A single answer or multiple answers can be tagged as the correct answer. A Question stimulus (image/audio/text and/or video) can be added in the optional Stimulus section.
Each Question and associated answers are entered on a separate screen via the number bar.
Fill-in-Blank Type-in
The Fill-in-Blank Type-in block type is typically used for one-word answers that are missing from a paragraph or statement, or in response to a question. Each question can include one or more blanks; each blank expects a student to type in characters that match the correct answer as specified by the author.
- To enter an answer blank use this format: This is a [solar] eclipse.
- To enter alternate correct answers: This event occurred on [July 4/July 4th/4th of July].
- To include incorrect text for students to correct: A kangaroo is a [mammal/marsupial:reptile].
You can specify multiple forms of a correct answer. You can also change a question setting to adjust the answer sensitivity to enable acceptance of any combination of upper and lower-case letters that match the correct answer rather than requiring an exact match.
A stimulus (image/audio/text and/or video) can be added in the optional Stimulus section for each question text. You can change a question setting to adjust if the stimulus appears above or below the question text.
A Hint text can be added for each question text.
Feedback (image/audio/text and/or video) can be added in the optional Feedback section.
Fill-in-Blank Dropdown
The Fill-in-Blank Dropdown block type is similar to the Fill-in-Blank Type-in question except that students select their answer from a dropdown menu rather than typing it into an input field. You would use this question type when it’s more important for a student to recognize the correct answer in a field of possibilities rather than exercising full recall of the answer with accurate spelling as required for the Type-in version.
- To enter an answer space use the format: [correct answer/wrong answer 1/wrong answer 2/…].

Distractors can also be added to the dropdown menu.
The Fill-in-Blank Dropdown question is also used for questions with multiple answer blanks, but in that question type, the dropdown menu of answer options for each blank is a different set of choices. In the Fill-in-Blank Word Bank
- To enter an answer space, use the format: [correct answer].
Distractors can be added in the dropdown menu via the Distractor Text section.

Essay

A stimulus (image/audio/text and/or video) can be added in the optional Stimulus section for each question text. You can change a question setting to adjust if the stimulus appears above or below the question text.

Video

A poster image can be added and a static image will display in the video window. This is good to use if the first screen of your video is a black screen.
Description text can be added as well as the video .vtt caption file. To comply with accessibility standards it’s important to include a caption file.
A written transcript can also be added.
