1. How do I add a Glossary link?

To add a glossary link, select the text to which the link should be added. 

Click the Add/Edit Definition button in the toolbar Picture1.png.

Add the required definition text in the ‘Definition’ field. You will notice text you selected is automatically added in the ‘Term’ field. Click the ‘OK’ button to add the link to the selected text.

 


 

2. How do I add a Web link?

To add a web link, select the text to which the weblink should be added.

Make sure the Link Type is ‘URL’. Add the desired web address (include the http://) in the URL field. Click the ‘OK’ button to add the web link to the selected text.

 


 

3. How do I add a Screen link (Link to another screen in the eText)?

To add a screen link, select the text to which the screen link should be added.

Make sure the Link Type is ‘Screen’. Select the ‘Screen Name’ from the list of available screens then click the ‘OK’ button to add the screen link to the selected text.

NOTE: If the screen to which you are linking is ever deleted from the text, you will need remove or revised the screen linked to the deleted screen to avoid an error occurring when building the EPUB.

 


 

4. How do I create a colored box?

To create a colored box of text, select ‘Boxed Text’ from the ‘Content Blocks’ menu.

Add the desired text in the ‘Text’ field.

Select the desired box color from the ‘Background Color’ dropdown menu and click ‘Done’.

The background color can be changed at any time by clicking ‘Edit’ for the block and changing the background color selected in the menu.

 


 

5. How do I create a Bulleted List?

A bulleted list can be created from scratch or existing text can be converted to a bullet list.

Click the ‘Insert/Remove Bullet List’ button in the tool bar to add a new list or select the existing text before clicking the ‘Insert/Remove Bullet List’ button to convert the text to a bullet list.

Right click anywhere in the list or highlight the list and right click to open the Bulleted List Properties window

Click ‘Bulleted List Properties’ to change the list icon type. Click OK to confirm selection.

6. How do I create a Numbered List?

A numbered list can be created from scratch or existing text can be converted to a numbered list.

Click the ‘Insert/Remove Numbered List’ button in the tool bar to add a new list or select the existing text before clicking the ‘Insert/Remove Numbered List’ button to convert the text to a number list.

Click ‘Numbered List Properties’ to change the start number and the list Type. Click OK to confirm selection.

7. How do I add an inline icon/image?

Position the cursor where you want to add the inline icon/image.

In the ‘Image Properties’ window entered the image details

Click the Browse button to open the media library to select an existing image or upload a new image. Enter ‘Alternative Text’ for the image (This Alt text will be read by screen readers).
If desired, adjust the ‘Width’, ‘Height’ and/or ‘Horizontal Padding’ for the image or to set the image at a percentage size, click the ‘Switch to percentage of screen width’ check box and selected the desired percentage, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%.

Click the ‘OK’ button to confirm the details.

 


 

8. How do I add a Quote text?

The add a ‘quote’ style to your text, select the ‘Quote’ icon from the Content Blocks menu:

Entered the desired quote text and citation and click ‘Done’.

9. How do I insert a screen break?

To insert a screen break, roll the cursor between blocks until the ‘+ Add Block’ line appears, then side the cursor to the right and over the page icon. This will toggle the icon to blue ‘Insert Screen Break’ icon

This will open the ‘Insert Screen Break’ window. Enter the ‘New Screen Name’ then click the ‘Insert Break’ button.

10. How do I flag a block?

To flag a block to leave a comment or assign the block it to another person click the ‘Flag’ button in the block menu: Picture18.png

In the Flag window, select an ‘Assignee’ from the dropdown menu to assign the block to another user and/or add a comment for the block. Leave the toggle on ‘Open’ to keep the flag active. Move the toggle to ‘Resolved’ to deactivate the flag.

11. How do I merge 2 screens?

You can merge two screens together via the Table of Contents (TOC) page.
First, make sure the 2 screens you would like to merge follow one after another in the TOC. This may require you to move a page up or down so the 2 pages are grouped together in the TOC.

The merge feature will merge a screen with the previous screen. In this example, the ‘Intro page’ will be merged with the ‘Chapter opener’.

Second, click the ‘More Options’ dots next to the ‘Open’ button on the second screen to reveal the available options. Click the ‘Merge with Previous’ button.

A confirmation window will open prompting you to confirm you want to merge the screen with the previous screen. Click ‘Merge’ to perform the action.

The two screens will now be merged into one screen with the contents of the second screen following the content of the first.

 


 

12. How do I change the name of a screen?

You can modify the name of your screen in two ways, on the ‘Table of Contents’ page or on the Screen itself.

- Table of Contents:

On the TOC page, click the More Options dots for the screen row and in the resulting window, click the ‘Edit Info’ button.

On the ‘Edit Info’ window you can modify the ‘Content Screen Name’ and click ‘Save’ to change the screen title.

- Screen:

To change the screen name while on the screen, click the ‘Edit Info’ button next to the screen name at the top of the screen.

In the resulting window you can modify the ‘Screen Name’ and click the ‘Save’ button to change the screen title. The new title will be reflected when you return to the TOC.

13. How do I duplicate a screen?

To duplicate a screen, click the More Options dots next to the Open button on the screen row in the Table of Contents (TOC).

In the resulting Duplicate Screen window, enter the new Screen Name and click the ‘Create’ button. The new screen will appear below the original screen in the TOC.
