High Opt-Out Intervention Report

Purpose

Provides insight to potential at-risk adoptions due to high opt-out rates by section and item.

Report Notes

  • The access filter will automatically filter the report to only show products that the user’s company (in Manage) owns, and this filter will only show available values.

  • This report is scoped to the following parameters:
    • The course opt-out deadline is in the next 14 days.

    • The section is active and has a rostered count > 0 (number of enrolled students).

    • For courseware, the opt-out rate is greater than or equal to 5%.

    • For other materials, the opt-out rate is greater than or equal to 10%.

Definition of fields

Term

Standardized term name, based on term start date (ex: Fall-2024, Winter/Spring-2025)

⚠️  The institution-defined term is not necessarily the same as the standardized term. For example, you may see some schedules names that may say “Spring” and appear in the “Winter” or “Summer” term.
Program Model

Program that an Institution offers, by catalog (i.e., the specific department, course, section, and adopted content)

Included values:

  • EA - indicates Equitable Access
  • FA - indicates Flexible Access
  • IA - indicates Inclusive Access
Participation ModelIndicates the participation model for the institution, either: Opt-in or Opt-out
Rostered Students

Number of students rostered into the section (to-date)

Opt-Out RatePercent of rostered students that have opted-out
Term Start DateTerm start date according to the school’s set up in Connect
Opt-In/Opt-Out DateDate which an Institution’s opt-in/opt-out decisions must be completed
Adopted ItemISBN and rental duration of item adopted in Connect (This is the “Billing ISBN” in the Connect system)
Matched ItemVitalSource ID associated with the adopted item (if a match exists in the VitalSource system)
Product TypeType of adopted material (i.e., Courseware, eTextbook, Bundles)
IA Program PricePrice of the item submitted by the Bookstore into Connect for IA or FA
IA Price Type

Categorization of the price for IA or FA
