Purpose

Provides visibility on upstream set-ups necessary for PI courses to confirm when to engage with instructors on final course set-up.

As someone invested in the smooth delivery of individual Partner Integration sections, I want to confirm that all actions upstream of my team have happened (the bookstore has submitted adoptions, the LMS courses are available, VitalSource configurations are correctly set for PI) before I/my team works with instructors on final-mile set up of each course (linking the LMS course to the courseware course, adding deep links, etc.).

Report Notes

  • The access filter will automatically filter the report to only show products that the user’s company (in Manage) owns, and this filter will only show available values.
  • This report shows courseware and bundle adoptions from Verba Connect that are “Active” and “Inactive”.

Definition of filters

Filter Name

Term Standardized term name, based on term start date (ex: Fall-2024, Winter-2025).

For 2-semester reviews, it is recommended to use combinations of at least 2 terms when viewing this report, for example:

  • Fall-2024; Winter-2025
  • Winter-2025; Spring-2025
  • Spring-2025; Summer-2025
  • Summer-2025; Fall-2025
⚠️The institution-defined term is not necessarily the same as the standardized term. For example, you may see some schedules names that may say “Spring” and appear in the “Winter” or “Summer” term.

 

Section Status

Indicates whether a section is “Active” or “Inactive”.

🔵 If a section is listed as “Inactive” it can represent either: 1) that the section has yet to be activated (if the Term is in the future) or 2) was not or will not run (typically if the Term is in the past or can possibly include Term Start Dates in the future).

 

Filter to view results for a specific status.
Publisher

The content owner (Manage company name) of the adopted courseware or bundle item.

Narrow results to a specific publisher company (if applicable).

⚠️ Note, filter is limited to companies that the system user is associated to.

 

Term Start Date Term start date according to the school’s set up in Connect. Narrow down items to a specific upcoming start date.
Section Status The status of the section (Active or Inactive). Narrow down items that are adopted from an active section or inactive section.

Field Name Description
Readiness Check

An easy view of whether all individual set-up and configuration steps are complete, according to VitalSource’s systems:

  • Ready – Indicates that all steps are complete
  • Not Ready – At least one step or configuration is not yet complete
🔵 For course launch issues, begin by reviewing the Course Label or Course Title. Sometimes the system may be out of sync, but the course launched is actually correct.
Adoption Submitted to Connect

Confirms the courseware/bundle item has been submitted as an adoption, with an LMS Course ID associated to it

📄 This is the responsibility of the school’s affordability program manager, typically the bookstore, to submit.

VST PI Configuration

Confirms the courseware/bundle item is correctly configured in Delivery Method = “VitalSource” and Access Codes Required = “No”. For BNED and eCampus, it checks the same logic and if Content Delivery Controls = “VST Delivered”

📄 This is actionable by the bookstore or by internal VitalSource teams.
Course Launched

Confirms that VitalSource has awareness of an LMS course

📄  It is the responsibility of the school’s LMS admin team to publish LMS courses. Once published, VitalSource handles the matching process between SIS and LMS courses. 
Product Launched (Matched)

Confirms material for the matched LMS course is the same as the adopted content

📄 VitalSource systems should handle this association and any updates that may come through.
