Purpose

Provides insights into closed adoptions that will support sales opportunity planning for the next sales season. Insights will identify opportunities where an institution is IA enabled, but where a section has not participated in IA, or where a print item was adopted, and the institution is not IA enabled, that can be converted to digital, or where a school is set up for PI and the courseware adoption did not participate in PI.

As a sales stakeholder, I want to identify opportunities to convert non-IA courses to IA participation, print adoptions to digital adoptions, and courseware with access codes to Partner Integration.

Report Notes

  • The access filter will automatically filter the report to only show products that the user’s company (in Manage) owns, and this filter will only show available values.
  • This report provides a limited display of opportunities based on the current term and previous two terms. For example, if today is 15-Oct-2024, then opportunities are based on adoptions, products, and institution participation models from Fall-2024 (current), Summer-2024, and Spring-2024.
  • As adoptions from institutions/distributors close throughout a sales season, to gain the most benefit from the data, it is recommended to pull this report in:
    • Late June for Winter/early Spring sales planning--report will include Summer, Spring, Winter adoptions (note: Spring/Winter will overlap with the late March report).
    • Late September for final Spring sales planning--report will include Fall, Summer, Spring adoptions (note: Summer/Spring will overlap with a late June report).
    • Late March for Summer and Fall sales planning--report will include Spring, Winter, Fall adoptions (note: Fall will overlap with the late September report).
  • Multi-semester courses may appear on the report term-over-term.
  • When a course is converted to one of the opportunities, it will no longer appear on the report for the next term and any historical terms (i.e., it will drop).
  • The Related VST Items are intended to surface that a digital product is available in the VitalSource ecosystem. It is not indicative of the correct product to offer a customer. This decision is left with the publisher based on their specific sales strategy.
