How to Place the VitalSource Learning Tool in Your Course in D2L/Brightspace

Follow the steps below to easily add a VitalSource eBook or other content to your course via the D2L Learning Management System (LMS).

1. Within your course, navigate to the Table of Contents.
2. If no Modules exist, create one by providing a name for your module in the field provided.
   
3. Navigate to the Module where you would like to add the external tool. Click Existing Activities, the VitalSource learning tool you are looking for could be pre-loaded to your course by your LMS administrator. Some edit the description to best meet the needs of the institution, so check with your LMS Admin if you are unsure what your chosen VitalSource tool is named within your D2L environments. 
   
   
   In this example, VitalSource Course Material links would take the user to the adopted materials for the class. Utilizing a link called VitalSource Content links would allow the faculty to add links to specific sections of the course’s eBook as part of the module’s leaning materials.
4. If the desired VitalSource Learning tool is not pre-populated for you, additional tools can be searched for and added by clicking “External Learning Tools” from the drop-down. The desired tool can be found here, as well.
