Email Matches to Me – Updated

What’s Improved?

  • The “Email Matches to Me” report, found on the Explore & Create page, now includes a column for “requirement status.” This data is tied to the adoption information received from the RMS.
  • This will help users weed out non-required course materials when using the report to identify good candidates for their IA or EA program.

Students page – enhanced performance

What’s improved?

  • We have made more performance tweaks to the Students page in Connect! For programs with a large number of students the page should perform much better.

New Schedule Functionality

What’s Improved?

  • We have eliminated the concept of a “default” schedule that automatically gets created with new catalogs and arbitrary default schedule dates.
  • Users will now be promoted to enter their schedule dates (instead of relying on arbitrary “default” schedule dates).
  • This will allow for much better processes around catalog setup tasks because the schedule dates will be meaningful.

SFTP Enrollment Ingestion Update

What’s Improved?

  • We’re now providing support for schools that want to send enrollment files more than once a day.
  • Ingestion will now kick off once an hour at the half-hour mark. (Note: Timing of catalog/adoption imports has not changed.)
  • Offering support for the ingestion of multiple files a day will ensure that enrollments in Connect are more up-to-date and accurate.
  • Students will see a marked improvement in their experience, especially when opting out of content from the Course Dashboard.
  • Students who were not yet reflected in Connect enrollments would receive an error when they attempted to opt out.
  • We recommend a maximum of 4 files a day, spaced out about 6 hours apart to ensure enrollment dependent processes have time to finish between imports.
  • You can choose the timing of your files to align with your own time zone, hours of operation, and any of their existing automated processes
  • It’s highly recommend that you retain your existing file placement timing of prior to 2:30 AM Pacific to ensure maximum enrollment coverage based on RMS catalog/adoption ingestion timing

Deeplinking

What’s Improved?

  • The instructor deeplinking tool has been updated to show a list of currently-adopted materials.
  • This helps instructors efficiently use the tool to quickly add relevant deeplinks to their LMS courses.
  • Buttons in the instructor deeplink tool have been updated to be clearer about what they do. We’ve also added a new button to quickly add a generic link to the book.
  • We’ve added a setting for our instructor deeplink tool to hide the search bar. This is intended for IA schools who do not want instructors to be able to add content adoptions through the deeplinking tool.
  • When search is disabled, instructors are restricted to adding deeplinks only for content that’s already been adopted to their course.
