How are we adaptive?
Based on pre-assessment and real-time learning performance, content can be adapted to the needs of individual learners to provide a highly personalized learning experience. Acrobatiq courses include adaptive features to assess both prerequisite knowledge and guide instruction at the start and knowledge at the end of unit of learning to prepare the learner for a high-stakes assessment or capstone project.
Adaptivity in Acrobatiq is delivered via formative assessments and activities. Two types of adaptive activities can be created in Acrobatiq’s authoring platform, SmartAuthor, which can bookend the primary learning content.
The first is an adaptive diagnostic assessment (Getting Ready)* that comes before the instructional content, and the second is an adaptive practice activity (Personal Practice) that comes after the primary content to help students prepare for a summative assessment.
Note: The inclusion and number of adaptive elements is subject to platform requirements and development decisions.
Adaptive Diagnostic AssessmentThe Getting Ready assessment is a prerequisite module with two parts: an assessment and lessons of content for remediation. The assessment itself is adaptive; it determines mastery against learning objectives as students answer questions and changes the delivery of questions accordingly. Based on the assessment results, the platform will determine which remedial lessons of content each student should receive in a personalized module. See Adaptive Activity: Getting Ready *Getting Ready modules are only available on legacy 4x courses. Contact Customer Success for additional information. |
Adaptive Practice ActivityThe Personal Practice activities are delivered after a module of learning content to help students prepare for a summative assessment such as a quiz or test. It is designed with sets of scaffolded questions against each learning objective from the preceding lessons. The platform uses the student’s learning estimate+ to determine the level of scaffolding the student should receive, and therefore each student receives a set of questions personalized to their needs. |
Note: The inclusion and number of adaptive elements is subject to platform requirements and development decisions.
