Student Program Decision Report

Purpose

Provides insight to student purchases leading up through course start. This is limited to only purchases made in the student choice/retail model. For Course Access and Total Access details, see the Student Participation and Materials Report

Report Notes

  • The access filter will automatically filter the report to only show products that distributed the product
  • Data results are limited to active schedules and institutions who are using VitalSource’s FA technology for program decisions.
  • Status results are based on the most recent decision for the student at the time the data was last received in VitalSource’s data warehouse (data updates approximately every 3 hours from the completion of the last update).
    • This report will not track student program decision history. 

Definition of filters

Filter Name Description Usage Notes
Institution Name of the Institution (Manage Company Name) Limit results to a specific institution.
Catalog Name Institution's catalog name that the student is enrolled in Limit results to a specific catalog(s).
Term Start Date Term start date according to the school’s set up in Connect Limit results to terms that started within a range or on a specific date.
Opt-In/Opt-Out Date Date which an Institution’s opt-in/opt-out decisions must be completed Limit results to only decisions where the opt-in/opt-out deadline has or has not yet passed.
Student ID Unique identifier for the student Use to search for a specific student
Student Name Name of the student Use to search for a specific student
Email Address Email address for the student Use to search for a specific student
Student Program Decision

Decision made by the student around which program to participate in. Values include:

  • Total Access - student is participating in the TA program
  • Course Access - student is participating in the CA program
  • No Program - student is not participating in TA/CA program, they have opted-out
Limit results to view students based on their decision choice.

Institution Catalog Identifier The catalog as identified in the charge file catalog name
VST Catalog ID Unique identifier representing the Catalog Name
Catalog Name Institution's catalog name that the student is enrolled in
Schedule Name Name of the schedule that the student is enrolled in
Term (Normalized)

Standardized term name, based on term start date:

  • Fall (Aug - December)
  • Winter/Spring (January - April)
  • Summer (May- July)
📄 Normalized term names bring parity to institutions, reseller partners, and content providers when conversing. The inclusion of this field is to help facilitate easier conversation and create a bridge between institutional catalog and schedule structure and reseller/content provider planning, preparations, and support.
