PrismRBS Systems Integration

VitalSource partners with PrismRBS to make it easier for campus stores to manage course materials and Inclusive Access (IA) programs. We offer three integration options through PrismRBS, allowing you to choose the setup that best fits your store’s needs:

Option 1: eBook Sales

  • VitalSource provides PrismRBS with the integration credentials and a branded site.
  • This allows your students to purchase digital course materials directly through your campus store’s existing PrismRBS.

Option 2:  Verba Connect (Inclusive Access Management)

  • PrismRBS provides VitalSource with the integration credentials needed for Connect.
  • This integration streamlines setup for IA programs by pulling in course catalog, section, and adoption data directly from PrismRBS.
  • Students who opt out of IA can be redirected to your campus store to purchase course materials in other formats.

Option 3:  Verba Collect (Adoption Collection)

  • PrismRBS provides VitalSource with the integration credentials needed for Collect.

  • Collect simplifies faculty adoptions and sends course material selections into PrismRBS.

     

Getting Started

To enable any of these integrations on your campus, please contact PrismRBS directly to let them know which options you’d like to implement, with your VitalSource/RedShelf CSM copied on the email. VitalSource and PrismRBS will work together with your store to complete the setup.

Here’s a recommended email template:

Hello PrismRBS team,

We are moving from RedShelf to the following VitalSource/Verba services ahead of the Spring 2026 term. Please confirm if we need to complete API services agreement required for Verba integrations.

  • eBook Sales – effective date 10/1/2025
  • Verba Connect – effective date 10/15/2025
  • Verba Collect – effective date 10/1/225

Please proceed with the set up for these services with the VitalSource team.

Best Practices

To ensure your integrations run smoothly, we recommend the following:

  • Do not group course sections together when using Collect or Connect.
  • To enable courses with no texts required to be sent to VitalSource, set these courses up with a SKU of your choice. Courses do not flow to VitalSource without a SKU.
  • If using WinPrism, include instructor names and emails in course requests.
