Overview
Provides insight into adoptions that are at-risk of fulfillment and may require intervention. The Akademos-VitalSource team flags at-risk items as they confirm inventory with publishers or place course material orders for upcoming academic terms. This report helps institutions identify situations where adoption fulfillment is not possible — so that instructors can select new materials for the current adoption cycle — as well as situations where instructors may want to proactively seek out alternative materials for the next adoption cycle.

How to Use This Report
Start with the filters — The report is automatically limited to institutions associated with your user. Use the Course Start Date filter (default: current month plus the next 4 months) to scope to a specific term window, and the At-Risk Reason filter to isolate a specific problem type.
Interpret the results — The summary tiles show overall at-risk course counts split by urgency (this term vs. next term) and a year-over-year trend by risk status (Red = cannot be fulfilled as-is; Blue = fulfillable but flagged). The detail grid gives item-level information, including the at-risk reason, action required, and a suggested replacement item where applicable.
Take action — For "Red"/this-term items, update the adoption with a new material selection before the term begins so students aren't left without materials. For "Blue"/next-term items, proactively source alternative materials ahead of the next adoption cycle.

Q: Why don't the counts on this report match what I see on the Submitted Adoptions Report?
A: This report only surfaces adoptions the Akademos-VitalSource team has flagged as at-risk during inventory or order confirmation — it's a subset of all submitted adoptions, not the full adoption population.
Q: What does a "Blue" risk status with a recommendation to find new material mean?
A: It means the item can still be fulfilled for the current term, but based on the At-Risk Reason (e.g., new edition, out of print) it's likely to become unavailable for a future term, so proactively selecting new material now reduces risk later.
