ACS Code Upload Hard Failures
What's Improved?
- Fixed an issue that caused bulk ACIS code upload sheets that had missing or had incorrect column headers to fail and keep retrying even though the jobs could never complete. Now, when we get an ACIS code upload sheet with wrong headers, we take note, email the user who needs to fix their sheet about the problem, and stop retrying.

Status Updater Bailing on Missing Booklists
What’s Improved?
- Fixed an issue where a background process would fail up update Booklist item statuses if the work that the process was doing included a reference to a booklist duration whose requested title or booklist had been deleted. Since these durations should have been deleted when the booklist or the requested title was deleted (but for some reason was not), we are now cleaning up the bad records and continuing to process the rest of the work.
Additional Details
- This should result in booklists with fewer items “stuck” in needs info, request rights, or adopt status that should have been automatically “promoted” to the next status.

Additional Details
- The issue occurred during a three-day window in mid-August. This issue has been corrected, and titles “stuck” in the adopted status were promoted to available status.

Additional Details
- The max number of characters for the Author Full Name has been increased to 1020. If title requests are imported with more than the allowed number of characters, other requested titles on the import will be processed and the user will receive a message in their import notification email that those items with long author names failed due to exceeding the allowed character limit.

Update Company Picker
What’s Improved?
- Now, when searching for companies in type-ahead dropdowns, we search for your text anywhere in the company name, rather than only from the beginning. Practically, that means that when searching for a particular Barnes & Noble school, for example, it’s not necessary to type “Barnes & Noble Education - My School Name” to find the school. Instead, the user can simply type “My School” and find the company.

Update Search Exports
What's Improved?
- The behavior of search exports has changed.
Additional Details
-
Previously, when exporting search results, if any duration of an asset matched your search query, when you exported, you would see every duration to which your company has access, even ones that didn’t meet your search criteria.
For example, imagine that you are an institution with two duration of the book “A Farewell To Arms,” both the 90-day and 180-day rental. And, imagine that you do a search for all books distributed to you with a duration of 180 days. In this case, you would see a listing for “Farewell” that would include both the 90- and 180-day durations. With this new change, only the 180-day rental would show under the listing for “Farewell.”
For publishers and VST staff, this is even more important because content owners and VST employees can see every duration of an asset. Previously, that meant it was impossible to see exactly which durations were distributed by a particular school because if the school had at least one duration of a title, all durations would show up in the report. Now, only the durations actually distributed will be in the report.
This does mean, however, that when searching on duration-specific criteria (like a particular price type or price currency) that not every product will come back in the search results. However, when searching on “book-level” attributes, such as titles or ISBN, all rental products will return.

Improved Error Messaging for Browser Support - Chrome<60
What’s Improved?
- Added the “we do not support this browser pages” for browsers we haven’t supported in eons. These ancient browsers would break on certain pages, so this will be some upfront annoyance for users having old computers/ having to switch browsers, but will help with long term pain with the browser breaking mid-site. Also note, the store supports the same browsers as Bookshelf.
